Casajús Winery – Tradition and excellence in Ribera del Duero

Nestled in the heart of Ribera del Duero , Bodega Casajús is a small but prestigious producer that combines winemaking tradition with meticulous craftsmanship. Founded in 1993 by José Alberto Calvo Casajús , a long-time winemaker and winegrower, the winery is located in Quintana del Pidio , a town steeped in winemaking history for centuries.

Vineyards and Philosophy

Casajús works exclusively with Tempranillo (Tinta del País), the region's emblematic grape variety. Its vineyards, located at over 900 meters above sea level , enjoy an extreme climate with significant temperature contrasts, allowing for slow and balanced grape ripening. Many of its vines are over 80 years old , lending concentration and complexity to the wines.

The winery's philosophy is based on limited production and the utmost respect for the vineyard and its surroundings. They employ sustainable practices and harvest by hand , selecting only the finest grapes for each production.

Preparation and Aging

Casajús wines reflect the purity of the terroir and the authentic expression of Tempranillo. Their Crianza and Reserva wines mature in French and American oak barrels , where they develop a unique complexity without losing their fruity character.

Among its most notable wines are:

  • Casajús Selection – Elegant aging with structure and balance.

  • Casajús NIC – A wine from old vines with great depth.

  • Casajús Vendimia Seleccioneda – Powerful and expressive, with excellent aging potential.

Recognitions

Casajús wines have received high scores in international guides such as Robert Parker's Wine Advocate (93*) , consolidating their prestige inside and outside Spain.
